Cat claws are a very sensitive area for a cat and a difficult issue for the owner. Some owners go to the extreme perceived with the inhumane procedure of declawing a cat. Though this solves a lot of problems for the owner it is very traumatic for the cat. The cat depends on its claws for all of his natural instincts like hunting, playing, protection, climbing, etc.
Other owners try all kind of methods of trimming their cat claws. They buy all kinds of special devices that say they easily trim cat claws, but they don’t mention the difficulty of keeping the cat still while working with their paws. It is against the nature of cats to have their claws trimmed because it is so vital to their nature.
It should make sense that the best way to attend to cat claws is to use the nature of a cat. Where a cat naturally likes to use its claws to pick at something would be an obvious place to put a trimming device. This would treat a cat kindly and would be easy for the owner. Rather than working against the cat, a pet lover would be working with their cat.
